Mrs. Margaret Ann Quick, 63,
entered into rest Wednesday, June 16, 2004
at her residence.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at DeLoach-Kennedy
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating. Interment followed
at Burke Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Quick was a waitress at the Back Door Diner
and a member of Botsford Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Ernest
Quick III of Waynesboro; her daughter, Melanie Quick Mobley of Tallahassee,
Fla.; two sisters, Maggie Forehand
of Millen and Ann Cockrell of Lexington, S.C.; five grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were her
nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Botsford Baptist Church Building
Fund.
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Kathryne Hemingway
was held 3 p.m.
Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Thomas Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie
B. Tomlin officiating. Interment was in Pines Cemetery.
Our beloved Kathryne was a remarkable woman. As we look back over her life,
we realize that she was a woman ahead of her time. So it is with great
joy, mixed with sadness, that our family asks you to celebrate the life
of Kathryne Wade Hemingway and share with us the knowledge that “to
live in the hearts of those we leave behind is to live forever.”
She leaves to cherish her fondest memories, a son and daughter-in-law,
Ronald (Lillie Mae) Wade of Waynesboro; two granddaughters, Keysha and
Rhonda Wade, both of Waynesboro; a sister, Rosalie (Robert) Keys of Brooklyn,
N.Y.; a brother, Richard (Frances) Wade of Brooklyn; a sister-in-law, Berdie
Mae Wade of Waynesboro; a brother-in-law, Bishop Robert (Alberta) Ward
Sr. of Laurelton, N.Y.; a godmother, Lurlie Walton of Waynesboro; and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and associates.
The
funeral service for Mr. Willie James Lacy will be 2 p.m. Friday, June
25, 2004 at Antioch Rock Creek Baptist Church, Waynesboro,
with the Rev. Charles E. Lacy Jr. officiating. Interment will be in
the church
cemetery. Mr. Lacy departed this life on Friday, June 17, 2004 at University
Hospital. He was an employee of the Richmond County Fire Department,
Station #3
for 25 years and Sears Roebuck & Company as a service technician
for 19 years. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Martha
Kaye Lacy; a son, Willie James Lacy Jr.; three daughters, Margean Tina
Lacy Stokes,
Jada Elizabeth Lacy and Jasmine Nicole Wright; his mother, Savannah Haynes;
four brothers, the Rev. Charles E. Lacy Jr., Mathis (Yolanda) Abrams
Jr., Robert Johnson and Edward Jenkins; two sisters, Barbara Lacy (Eric)
Safford and Jacqueline (Seaborn) Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends. Visitation at the family’s residence will
begin at 6 p.m. tonight (Wednesday, June 23) at 2531 Norton Blvd., Augusta.
The family will also receive at Phinazee and Son Funeral Home on Thursday
evening from 6-8 p.m.
Mrs. Cleo Brigham
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Cleo Brigham was held 1 p.m. Saturday,
June 19, 2004 at Bottsford Spring Baptist Church, with Evangelist Queen
Holmes officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Her loving and
devoted family will cherish her memories.
Mr. John Earnest Hughes
Mr. John E. Hughes departed this life on June 4, 2004 at Burke Medical
Center.
Funeral services were conducted in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. Interment was June
12, 2004 at McElmurray Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery in Burke County.
Mr. Watson Bernard Striggles III
Mr. Watson B. Striggles of Augusta entered into rest Friday, June 18,
2004 at his residence in Augusta. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m.
Saturday, June 26, at First McCoy Baptist Church, Jenkins County, Georgia,
with the Rev. Archie Waltower
officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
