Burke County Sheriff

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Burke County
Sheriff's Office for the past week:

Monday, Sept. 8

• Joseph Kedarell Hughes, 19, of 1125 Quaker Road, Waynes-boro, was arrested for battery (Waynesboro police case). A $1,200 property bond was posted.
• Desmond Striggles, 24, of 149 Mamie Joe Lane, Waynes-boro, was arrested on 10 counts of forgery and one count of simple battery. Bond was set at $59,200.
• Georgeann Nixon of Waynesboro reported a theft by conversion case.
• Joann Whitfield of Waynes-boro reported that someone knocked down her mailbox.

Tuesday, Sept 9

• Billie Jo Thompkins of Hephzibah reported a criminal trespass case.
• Earl Kneely of Keysville reported the theft of multiple appliances from a rental property.
• Danny Smith of Waynesboro reported a suspicious incident.
• Loretta Griffin of Girard reported the theft of a purse and an undisclosed amount of money from her residence.
• Samuel Oglesby of Planters Electric Corp. reported the theft of services from a Waynesboro resident living in Briar Creek Estates.

Wednesday, Sept. 10

• Antonio Dewayne Hopkins, 25, of 277-A Thankful Church Road, Girard, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. A $1,200 property bond was posted.
• J.D. Powell of Waynesboro reported an unwanted guest.
• Bernadette Washington of Waynesboro reported receiving harassing phone calls.
• Henry Moon of Flying Auto Auction reported finding a stolen vehicle parked on River Road.
• Lt. Frankie Parker reported the recovery of a missing person.
• Amanda Rucker of Midville reported damage to her vehicle from a fallen limb.
• Mitchell Dykes of Girard reported a criminal trespass case.
• A 16-year-old juvenile reported receiving harassing phone calls.
• Lakesha Prescott of Girard reported receiving harassing phone calls.

Thursday, Sept. 11

• Alfrenesia Lateka Devine, 18, of 859 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Waynesboro, was arrested for simple battery (Waynesboro police case). A $1,200 property bond was posted.
• Lara Nichols of Waynesboro reported the theft of a check from her mailbox.
• J.C. Walden of Blythe reported receiving harassing phone calls.
• Kerstin Alfred of Hephzibah reported the theft of a tiller and fishing equipment.

Friday, Sept. 12

• Linda Lee Habersham, 39, of 650 Drone Road, Waynesboro, was arrested for simple battery. A $1,200 property bond was posted.
• Teresa Vanessa Wilson, 26, of 2093 Susie Bailey Road, Waynesboro, was arrested for aggravated assault. A $5,800 property bond was posted.
• Eric Conrad Simpson, 25, of 1840 Killingsworth Road, Apt. Q-5, Augusta, was arrested for interference with property of a public utility. A $3,500 property bond was posted.
• Isiah Treymaine Wright, 26, of 1211 Coleman-Young Road, Waynesboro, was arrested for the sale of marijuana and obstructing or hindering a law enforcement officer. A $12,770 property bond was posted.
• Brandon Taylor, 21, of 835 Manderson Circle, Hephzibah, was arrested for possession of marijuana (less than one ounce) and obstructing or hindering a law enforcement officer. A $13,750 property bond was posted.
• Earl Rodney Krenson III, 40, of 9047 Hwy. 24 South, Sardis, was arrested for criminal trespass under the Family Violence Act. He was released on his own recognizance.
• Dyann Lewis of Waynesboro reported a civil dispute.
• Deputy Ed James reported the transport of a mental patient to Georgia Regional Hospital.
• Dwight Howard of Waynes-boro reported the theft of his vehicle.
• Frank Wimberly of Waynes-boro reported that someone cut trees on his property without permission.
• Kimberly Streetman of Blythe reported the theft of her mailbox.
• Kenneth McCoy of Augusta reported a vehicle fire.
• Jonathan Tarver of Waynes-boro reported the theft of a VCR and five gallons of gas.

Saturday, Sept. 13

• George Jackson Jr., 58, of 731-B Blount Road, Hephzibah, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol for DUI, driving on a suspended license and violation of the Georgia Open Container Law. A $2,775 property bond was posted.
• Gary Blythe of Link Pre-Owned reported the theft of a counterfeit $50 bill.
• Willie Evans of Waynesboro reported that he was attacked by three males.
• Susie Gray of Waynesboro reported a vehicle fire.
• Burke Medical Center reported a suspicious incident.
• Deputy Glenn Newsome reported the transport of a mental patient to Burke Medical Center.

Sunday, Sept. 14

• Deputy Marc Miller reported the recovery of a missing juvenile.
• Shirley Brady of Waynes-boro reported a missing cell phone.
• Daniel May of Hephzibah reported a dog bite.
• Sarepta Usher of Waynes-boro reported a burglary at her residence.
• Tomekia McLennon of Waynesboro reported an accident on River Road.
• Deputy Glenn Newsome reported a suspicious incident.
• Deputy Dedric Smith reported that a subject fled into the woods when he attempted to arrest him for probation violation.
• Mark Joyner of Sardis reported that his vehicle was damaged when gravel fell from a dump truck on Highway 23.
• James Jenkins reported an abandoned, burned vehicle off Drone Road.
• Judy Sullivan-Cooper reported a simple battery case involving a juvenile.
• Deputy Marc Miller reported a missing teen.

Monday, Sept. 8

• Georgeann Nixon reported that someone used her name to set up a fraudulent account at a cable company.
• Officer Kenneth Scott reported the confiscation of a bong and a substance believed to be marijuana from a club on Cherry Street. No charges were made.
• Cherika Wright reported the theft of her vehicle.
• Officer Richard Lineberry reported a suspicious incident.

Tuesday, Sept. 9

• Kevin Randolph Mills, 24, of 1337 Hwy. 23 South, Waynesboro, was arrested for operating an unregistered or unlicensed vehicle, driving on a suspended or revoked license, no insurance and violation of limits on sound volume by a motor vehicle. Bond was set at $1,675.50.
• Wilma Randolph reported that someone threatened her.
• David Cooper Jr. reported the theft of three trailer tires and rims from the Burke County Peanut Company.
• Russ Drake reported the theft of a trailer.
• Darrell Smith of Wal-Mart reported a shoplifter.
• Bernice Striggles reported a burglary at her residence.
• Robert Koziol of Southern Bank reported the receipt of two counterfeit bills.
• Barbara Gordon reported the theft of a washer, dryer, refrigerator and other items from her rental property.
• Sterling Wimberly reported a suspicious incident.

Wednesday, Sept. 10

• Tanicka Lisha Knox, 26, of 200 Mills Road, Waynesboro, was arrested on Richmond County felony warrants.
• Lakesha Douglas reported the theft of her vehicle.
• Shirley Reid reported a simple battery case.
• Leslie Medlock reported a reckless driver.
• Kurt Lingenfelser reported a suspicious incident.
• Irene Broadus reported that someone shot her parked vehicle at close range.

Thursday, Sept. 11

• Emily Johnson, 19, of 505 Bryant St., Waynesboro, was arrested on a probation warrant.
• Charles Hankerson, 34, of 218 Greens Cut, Waynesboro, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Bond was set at $575.
• Kenyatta Abrams reported a verbal altercation.
• Judy Brady reported damage to her parked vehicle.
• Bertha Harris reported a motor vehicle accident.

Friday, Sept. 12

• Isaac Lee Abrams, 46, of 548 Chaucer Road, Waynesboro, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $365.
• Josie Hughes of Jet Food Store reported that someone drove away without paying for gas.
• Isam Anthony reported that someone pointed a gun at him and three other people.
• Harvey Howard reported seeing someone steal mail from his neighbor’s mailbox.

Saturday, Sept. 13

• Walter Daniel Crawford, 50, of 824 Perry St., Waynesboro, was arrested for indecency (third offense). Bond was set at $140.50.
• Lizzie Frank of Time Saver reported that someone drove away without paying for gas.
• Joann Butler reported that she and her daughter were attacked and injured by an unleashed dog on Pierce Street. The owner was cited under the city’s leash law.
