The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Burke County Sheriff's Office for the past week:

Thursday, May 22

· A New Jersey man reported that an unknown person in Burke County used his identity to obtain electric services and left over $400 in unpaid bills in his name.

Saturday, May 24


· Cynthia Lewis of Keysville reported that her car was damaged when she accidentally ran over an alligator on Quaker Road.

Monday, May 26

· Ted Dwane Rackard, 29, of 1914 Preston Road, Augusta, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, DUI (alcohol and drugs), possession of marijuana (less than one ounce) and no driver’s license on person. An $8,575 property bond was posted.
· Hernandez Alejandro Puga, 24, of 207 East 7th St., Waynes-boro, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol for DUI, failure to maintain lane, driving too fast for conditions and driving while unlicensed. A $2,825 property bond was posted.
· George Burrell Sanders IV, 28, of 2320 Laurel Lane, Augusta, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law enforcement officer. A $7,000 property bond was posted.

Tuesday, May 27

· Sandra Sue Ivey, 34, of 411 Shadrack St., Waynesboro, was arrested for criminal trespass. A $1,200 property bond was posted.
· Don Redd of H&D Auto Sales reported being unable to locate a customer who quit making her car payments.

Wednesday, May 28

· Cpl. Robert Wright reported the recovery of a burned vehicle on Jack DeLaigle Road which had been stolen out of Richmond County.
· Jessica Frost of Hephzibah reported a stolen cell phone.
· Lakesha Prescott of Girard reported someone using abusive language toward several juveniles.
· Wendell Washington of Sardis reported a missing cell phone.

Thursday, May 29


· Linda Dean Prescott, 45, of 1212-A Givens Grove Church Road, Girard, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol for driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance, violation of the Georgia Seatbelt Law and no tag. A $2862.50 property bond was posted.
· Sandra Shereka Scott, 19, of 3715 River Road, Waynesboro, was arrested for driving while unlicensed. A $375 property bond was posted.
· Pamela Bowen of Hephzibah reported that her wallet was stolen.
· Cpl. Jimmie Golden reported a case involving a mentally ill person.
· Christy Johnson of Waynes-boro reported the theft of a firearm from her vehicle.
· Cathy Gay of Waynesboro reported the theft of her vehicle. It was recovered four days later, parked at Baduly and Ninth streets.
· Wilbert Williams of Keys-ville reported a burglary at his residence.
· Cpl. Robert Wright reported the transport of a drug abuse pat-ient to Burke Medical Center.
· Kelvin Brown reported that someone tried to break into a shed at Burke County Alternative School.

Friday, May 30

· Demetrius W. Stringer, 25, of 2915 Panhandle Circle, Augusta, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol for DUI. A $1,200 property bond was posted.
· Chuck Baer of Applewood Golf Course reported the theft of two golf clubs.
· William Murphy of Waynes-boro reported receiving harassing phone calls.
· Pearl Mulherin of Midville reported the theft of her vehicle and other items.
· Cpl. Robert Wright reported the recovery of a runaway Richmond County juvenile. The child, who was 11, was returned to her mother.
· Shelley Lynch reported the theft of prescription medication from her residence.

Saturday, May 31

· James Edward London, 17, of 493 Stephens Road, Keys-ville, was arrested for burglary. A $5,800 property bond was posted.
· Joyce Patrick of Waynesboro reported a reckless driver.
· Tameka McClenon of Way-nesboro reported having trouble with a subject.
· Timothy Williams of Way-nesboro reported a missing cell phone.
· Judith Rogers of Hephzibah reported a burglary.
· Senna White of Waynesboro reported that someone threatened her.
· Deputy Edward James reported assisting Waynesboro Police with crowd control at Huddle House.
· Marvin Givens of Waynes-boro reported damage to his vehicle.
· Deputy Edward James reported four-wheelers in the roadway near Brier Creek Estates.
· Harvie Dixon Jr. of Blythe reported the theft of a firearm, sword and other items from his residence.
· Cecil Elliott of Hephzibah reported a burglary at his residence.
· Lawrence DuBose of Way-nesboro reported a theft by deception case.
· Dorothy Broxton of Waynes-boro reported the theft of a dog.

Sunday, June 1

· Billy Elane Davidson, 64, of 1621 Swint Road, Harlem, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol for DUI and speeding (77 mph in a 55 mph zone). A $1,825 property bond was posted.
· Deputy Edward James reported a suspicious vehicle.
· Debra Calhoun of Waynes-boro reported a stolen trailer tag.
· Karen Parnell of Hephzibah reported that someone damaged her well and cut all of the pipes.

Monday, June 2

· Alphonso Rodriquez of Hephzibah reported a dispute over the ownership of a vehicle.
· Deputy Edward James reported a felony obstruction and disorderly conduct case involving a mentally ill subject.
· Burke County EMA reported a vehicle fire on Highway 56 South near Midville.
· Deputy Edward James reported a roadside fire on Thompson Bridge Road which began when flames jumped the firebreak during a controlled burn.
· Willie Lee Coleman of Waynesboro reported that his pick-up was damaged when a passing motorist hit it with a baseball on Highway 25 South.
· Beverly Hollis of Waynes-boro reported damage to her vehicle.
· Lyndale Wilson of Waynes-boro reported that someone assaulted him and threatened him with a knife.
· Timothy Oglesby of Sylvania reported a simple battery case.
· Vern Denmark of Waynes-boro reported a missing wallet.

· Garnetta Hackney reported that someone broke into her vehicle and stole her purse.

Sunday, May 25

· Eugene Griffin Jr., 19, of 859 Martin Luther King Drive, Waynesboro, was arrested for theft by taking. Bond was set at $375.50.
· Carrie Beth Sylvester, 37, of 808 Academy Ave., Waynes-boro, was arrested for disorderly conduct under the Family Violence Act. Bond was set at $375.
· Mario Rudolfo Espinoza, 29, of 455 Browning Road, Telford, Tenn., was arrested for disorderly conduct under the Family Violence Act. He was released on his own recognizance.
· Shondall Demarcus White, 17, of 75 Magnolia Acres, Way-nesboro, was arrested for theft by taking. Bond was set at $375.50.
· Glenn Widner reported that someone broke into his vehicle and stole multiple items.
· Erica Williams reported a suspicious incident.
· Ella Mitchell reported a burglary at her residence.

Monday, May 26

· Otha Carswell, 34, of 1006 Grubb St., Waynesboro, was arrested for forgery in the first degree and theft by taking. A $12,750 property bond was posted.
· Gordon Hill, 46, of 998 Green-Spence Road, Midville, was arrested under the Family Violence Act for simple battery and two counts of cruelty to children in the second degree.
· Johan Anthony Cibak, 19, of 1144 Hephzibah-McBean Road, Hephzibah, was arrested for unlawful use of license plates, driving an unregistered or unlicensed vehicle, driving with a suspended or revoked license and no proof of insurance. Bond was set at $2,020.
· Patrice Mitchell reported that someone purposely rammed her vehicle.
· Vonetta Green reported that someone assaulted her.
· Syketta Sims reported a battery case.
· Arthur Jenkins reported finding a purse in a garbage can.
· Andrea Slager reported that someone stole $25 out of a cash register at the Burke Medical Center gift shop.
· Gautamakumar Desai of D.J. Petrol reported receiving seven forged checks.

· Charlie Edward Mobley, 18, of 702 Tucker Ave., Waynes-boro, was arrested on a county warrant.
· Tamara Rabun of Murphy’s USA reported that someone drove away without paying for gas.
· Julian Payne reported that someone assaulted him.
· Latonia Cummings reported a battery case.
· Sgt. Larry Lariscy reported the transport of a mental patient.
· Teresa Whitaker reported a missing cell phone.
· Teresa Cox reported receiving harassing phone calls.
· Linda Keefer reported a missing cell phone.

Wednesday, May 28

· Wallace Douglas Darlington, 39, of 709 Hwy. 25 South, Waynesboro, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
· Vonetta McGee reported that someone shot through her front window. Officers found a .45 caliber slug on the scene.
· Erma Griner reported that nearly $200 in merchandise was fraudulently charged in her name.
· Amber Gray of Murphy’s USA reported that someone drove away without paying for gas.
· Michelle Bryant reported a suspicious incident.
· Roderick Lewis reported that several subjects tried to start a fight with him.
· Investigator Susan Salemi reported the transport of a mental patient.
· Eva Brown reported a suspicious incident.
· James Eastmead of Mr. Golf Carts reported approximately $1,000 in damage to several golf carts.
· Carissa Williams reported receiving harassing phone calls.
· Fannie Wimberly reported that someone broke into her vehicle and stole her purse and other items.
· Tyhelynda Godbee reported damage to property at a local business.

· Jacqueline Bush reported that someone cut her telephone wires.
· Officer Brian McDuffie reported an altercation in progress at a local bank.

Friday, May 30

· Anthony Paulson of Murphy’s USA reported that someone drove away without paying for gas.
· Brenda Patterson reported that someone snatched her wallet out of her purse while shopping at Wal-Mart.
· Brenda Tutt of Family Dollar reported a possible counterfeit bill.
· Georgeann Nixon reported that someone struck her with a phone book.
· Courtney Kirkland reported that someone tried to break into her residence.
· Chinesea Bradley reported the theft of her wallet.

Saturday, May 31

· Christopher Michael Walker, 22, of 122 Cain St., Waynesboro, was arrested for driving an unregistered or unlicensed vehicle, no proof of insurance and violation of the Georgia Seatbelt Law.
· David Osborne, 46, of 857 Jones Ave., Waynesboro, was arrested for possession of marijuana, less than one ounce.
· Gerry Mitchell reported a possible burglary at his residence.
· Ivan Heatwole of Burkehaven Corner Store reported the theft of an undisclosed amount of cash from the store safe.

Sunday, June 1

· Andrea Bernard Mayes, 31, of 1607 Hwy. 80, Waynesboro, was arrested under the Family Violence Act for simple battery, cruelty to children in the second degree and theft by taking. A $3,600 property bond was posted.
· Jessica Tolbert reported the theft of a CD player from her vehicle.
· Chastity Bartlett of A&W One Stop reported that someone drove away without paying for gas.
· Ezumyra White reported a missing tag decal.
· Donald Heath reported that someone broke into his vehicle and stole a CD player.
· William Tallent reported a missing tag decal.
· Charlotte Jackson reported a quarrel.

Monday, June 2

· Cpl. Bobbie Jockel reported attempting to arrest a Waynesboro woman on a Columbia County felony warrant, but being unable to do so because the woman was nine months pregnant with a C-section scheduled later that day. After trying to run from the scene, the offender reportedly fell down and said she couldn’t move. She was carried to the patrol car by four officers to whom “she made all kinds of threats.” She was cited for interference with police.
· Buffey Davis reported that someone cut two of her tires and broke out a window on her vehicle.
· Latoya Reed reported damage to her property.
