Burke County Sheriff

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Burke County Sheriff's Office
for the past week:

Friday, Jan. 11

ˇ Matthew Robert Green, of Helena Chemical Co., reported the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

ˇ Saturday, Jan. 12

ˇ Lee Gardner reported someone entered his residence and took an assortment of weapons.

ˇ ˇ Belinda Taylor reported someone threw bricks at her residence.

ˇ Sunday, Jan. 13

ˇ Mary Collins reported receiving physical threats.

ˇ ˇ Jimmy Gay reported someone entered his shop and stole a kerosene heater and an assortment of tools.

ˇ Monday, Jan. 14

ˇ Patricia Reece reported receiving terrorist threats, harassing phone calls and an incident of criminal trespass.

ˇ Tuesday, Jan. 15

ˇ Darla Jean Cargile Ingham, 42, of 109 Goodtown Dr., Brunswick, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) for driving while license was suspended and speeding. Bond was set at $1,445.

ˇ ˇ Janet Sylvia Johnson, 55, of Sardis, was arrested for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Bond was set at $5,300.

ˇ ˇ Marci Obryan reported receiving harassing phone calls.

ˇ ˇ John Justice reported someone shot the side of his mobile home.

ˇ Wednesday, Jan. 16

ˇ Broadus Mosley, 42, of 516 Corker Road, Waynesboro, was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) for possession of crack cocaine. A property bond was posted.

ˇ ˇ Joey Shondell Knight, 24, of Sardis, was arrested for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. A property bond was posted.

ˇ ˇ The Burke County EMA reported recovering a stolen burned vehicle.

ˇ ˇ Rosa Payne reported someone cut the tires of her vehicle.

ˇ ˇ Regina Daniel reported three dogs killed one of her pigs.

ˇ ˇ Gary Boyd reported the theft of a four-wheeler.

ˇ Thursday, Jan. 17

ˇ Dana Louise Wise, 26, of 635 Zeigler Circle, Sardis, was arrested by the GSP for driving under the influence (DUI). Bond was set at $1,100.

ˇ ˇ Grady Hughes reported someone came onto his property and did damage to his door.

ˇ ˇ Charlene Newkitrt reported two pit bull dogs missing from her residence.

ˇ Friday, Jan. 18

ˇ James Edward Sursson III, 33, of 200 Mills Road, Waynesboro, was arrested for driving while license was suspended. Bond was set at $1,100.

ˇ ˇ Yolanda Wilson reported an incident of criminal trespass.

ˇ Saturday, Jan. 19

ˇ William Andrew Warren, 18, of 3375 A Herndon Road, Waynesboro, was arrested for aggravated child molestation. A property bond was posted.

ˇ ˇ Lee Brantley reported the theft of a Honda motorbike.

ˇ ˇ Beverly Travis reported an incident of battery.

ˇ ˇ Shane Champagne reported an incident of battery.

ˇ ˇ Robert Star reported an incident of criminal trespass.

ˇ Sunday, Jan. 20

ˇ John Henry Nair, 17, of 812 Washington Dr., Waynesboro, was arrested for statutory rape. Bond was set at $2,150.

ˇ ˇ Henry Lakes III reported an incident of battery.

ˇ Monday, Jan. 21

ˇ Michael Leslie McLeroy, 39, of 1770 A Winter Road, Blythe, was arrested for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and driving while license was suspended or revoked.

ˇ ˇ Robert Carter reported the theft of several checks and a large sum of cash from his residence.

ˇ ˇ Eddie Gilbert, of the Department of Transportation, reported criminal damage to a piece of equipment. ˇ

Monday, Jan. 14

ˇ Arthur Zapreum Robinson, 21, of 709 C Briarwood Apartments, Waynesboro, was arrested for possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and obstructing or hindering a law enforcement officer. A property bond was set.

ˇ ˇ James Jones reported the theft of a vehicle.

ˇ ˇ Evelyn Cook, of A & W #1, reported someone drove off without paying for their gas.

ˇ ˇ Thomas Cundiff, of Discount Auto Parts, reported a theft by shoplifting.

ˇ ˇ Eddie Glisson, of CVS Pharmacy, reported an attempted shoplifting by a juvenile.

ˇ ˇ Mark Quick, of Affordable Automotive, reported the theft of a CD player and four steel rims, tires and hubcaps.

ˇ Tuesday, Jan. 15

ˇ Kenneth Linniol Johnson, 35, of 3567 Wood Lake Road, Waynesboro, was arrested for his fourth offense of theft by shoplifting.

ˇ ˇ Edna Bostick Chance, 47, of 540 Pilgrim Way, Waynesboro, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $155.

ˇ ˇ Calvin Smith reported several juvenile males kicked in a door.

ˇ ˇ Juarnitris Dove reported someone threw an unknown object through her window.

ˇ ˇ Bill Babb, of Rowell's Electric, reported the theft of two generators and a pair of hand trucks.

ˇ Wednesday, Jan. 16

ˇ Johnny Owens, 62, of 716 Cates Ave., Waynesboro, was arrested on a probation violation warrant.

ˇ ˇ Sandra Davis reported someone entered her auto.

ˇ ˇ Gloria Sasser, of BI-LO, reported several cases of account fraud.

ˇ ˇ Nora Carswell, Leslie Madlock and Annie Cooper reported an affray involving several juveniles.

ˇ Thursday, Jan. 17

ˇ Mayhue Wimberly, 37, of 3224 Highway 80 West, Waynesboro, was arrested for burglary.

ˇ ˇ Jessica Jeffers reported a domestic quarrel.

ˇ ˇ Gloria Jordan reported an incident of criminal trespass.

ˇ ˇ Jacqueline Hankerson reported someone let the air out of two of her tires.

ˇ ˇ Vincent Alewine reported finding a wallet.

ˇ Friday, Jan. 18

ˇ Joshua Hammock, 17, of 10143 Highway 23 South, Waynesboro, was arrested for shoplifting. Bond was set at $360.

ˇ ˇ Dorris Gay reported receiving harassing phone calls and terroristic threats.

ˇ ˇ Bernice Griffin reported finding a wallet.

ˇ ˇ Evelyn Cook, of A & W #1, reported trouble with a patron.

ˇ ˇ Shonta Chance reported someone took her purse from an unlocked vehicle and threw its contents in someone's back yard.

ˇ ˇ Earnestine Abrams reported a disturbance and an unwanted guest.

ˇ Ronald Morgan Blackwelder, 17, of Waynesboro, was arrested for disorderly conduct and interfering with police. Bond was set at $335.
